SUMMARY:Respiratory Therapy Week
DESCRIPTION:Respiratory therapists (RTs) are specialists in cardiorespiratory care\, providing essential care across our healthcare systems. There are more than 12\,000 registered respiratory therapists (RRTs) working on the frontlines in Canada. RTs provide life-saving treatments including oxygen therapy\, airway management and mechanical ventilation for patients who are no longer able to breathe for themselves. Respiratory therapists are integral members of many teams\, such as anesthesia care teams\, critical care teams\, and primary care teams. Respiratory Therapy Week celebrates the vital contributions of these specialized professionals.
