Identify emerging issues and improve communication. Support collaboration between unions and employers. Stand up for allied health.
Employee Management Advisory Committees (often called Labour Management Committees in unionized environments) exist throughout MAHCP member-employing organizations and worksites across Manitoba. The committees provide opportunities for MAHCP members at the frontlines to build leadership skills while aiming to enhance the work environment for allied health-care professionals.
Committee goals are to:
- provide an open and transparent forum to discuss workplace issues among managers, workers and union representatives
- promote collaboration between MAHCP members, Labour Relations Officers, and employers’ Human Resources staff and managers
- build relationships and improve collaboration
- help MAHCP uncover or anticipate workplace concerns which may become bigger problems or require our attention.

Ready to volunteer for your Employee Management Advisory Committee?
Interested in advocating for allied health? Consider volunteering for your MAHCP Employee Management Advisory Committee.
If your facility’s/site’s committee requires new or additional members, your MAHCP Labour Relations Officer may contact you to discuss the role (typically require a two-year commitment). If we receive more volunteers than we need to fill committee positions, we can organize an electronic vote for your worksite to determine representation democratically.
