As of 8 AM on Friday, March 7, if you work at any of the locations or classification groups below, and are NOT scheduled to work as per the ESA Schedule, you will be on strike tomorrow and picketing.
ALL-OUT STRIKE
Members working in these groups will be operating on an all-out strike model, at all sites province-wide, beginning on Day 1 and continuing as long as the strike persists.
This means that all those NOT scheduled to work as per the ESA Schedule will be performing job action. Head to your closest official picket location if you’re able to, or complete the alternative picket duties listed at the bottom of this page.
- Diagnostic Imaging at all sites
- Emergency Response Services
- Laboratory at all sites, including Westman and Cadham
DAILY ROTATING STRIKE
Each day, a new group of members will be on strike and picket locations will rotate around the province.
On Day 1, members at the following sites will be pulled:
- CancerCare Manitoba
- Crisis Response Centre
- Health Sciences Centre
- Rehabilitation Centre for Children
- St. Boniface Hospital
FOR ALL OTHER MEMBERS
If you work at ANY other location throughout Manitoba, MAHCP is asking you to report to work as normal BUT to complete Essential Work Functions ONLY.
IMPORTANT:
We have heard from some employers that ONLY those scheduled to work as per the ESA Schedule will be allowed to attend work.
You should prepare to be turned away.
If this occurs, you are considered locked out and should email strike@mahcp.ca, copy your LRO, and go to your nearest picket location.
How to report alternative picketing activities to receive strike pay.
- Send an email to strike@mahcp.ca with the subject line “Picketing Activity” at the time you begin picketing activities.
- An MAHCP representative will be tracking all emails for the process of approving strike pay.
If you are rural, require accommodations, or can’t make it to an official picket line, we’ve outlined some acceptable alternatives. If the strike persists, we will add more opportunities to this list to build solidarity.
