If you’re pursuing education in an allied health field, or you’re a child/dependent of a MAHCP member and you’re applying to your first year of post-secondary, you may be eligible to receive one of our scholarships. Please be advised that the MAHCP Scholarships and Monique Wally Memorial Scholarships are now closed for 2026 – thank you to all applicants for your submissions. The Continuing Education Fund will open to MAHCP Members in Good Standing on May 20, 2026.

IMPORTANT:

  • In order to be eligible for a scholarship, the institution to which you’re applying must be recognized by the Government of Canada. If in doubt, please refer to the Government of Canada’s list of Designated Schools.
  • Applicants selected to receive a MAHCP or Monique Wally Memorial Scholarship will be notified in early June 2026 and announced at MAHCP’s 2026 Biennial General Meeting.
  • MAHCP’s Continuing Education Fund will open to member applications on May 20 – members should stay tuned to their email for launch information. Recipients of the Continuing Education scholarships will be notified in August 2026 and announced at MAHCP’s 2026 Biennial General Meeting.

Manitoba Federation of Labour – Al and Alma Cerilli Young Activist Scholarship

The Manitoba Federation of Labour offers the Al and Alma Cerilli Young Activist Scholarship, an annual $1,000 scholarship for union activists who are 35 years or under and belong to an MFL affiliate union, to help them pursue post-secondary education. The application deadline for this year’s award is May 29, 2026.


Brandon and District Labour Council Scholarship

To honour Colleen Seymour, longtime labour activist and leader, the Brandon and District Labour Council (BDLC), has established a $500 scholarship to be awarded to a member of an affiliate union, or a member of their immediate family, taking education that will either lead to employment in a unionized job or related to organizing in the labour movement. The BDLC Scholarship will be awarded to one recipient per year by June 30. A committee of the BDLC will be established to review applications and make recommendations. The application deadline is June 2, 2026.
