MAHCP represents 7,500 allied health professionals working in vital healthcare facilities, programs, and community settings throughout the province. We negotiate competitive collective agreements on their behalf and provide qualified labour relations support for equitable workplace practices.

CENTRAL TABLE

MAHCP’s Central Table is comprised of three bargaining units totalling 7,000 allied health members. These employees are protected by three virtually identical collective agreements which MAHCP bargains with Provincial Health Labour Relations Services (PHLRS).

Winnipeg-Churchill Health Region Employers Organization (WCHREO)

Allied health professionals employed by WCHREO include hospital, health centre, and personal care home employees in Winnipeg and surrounding areas (East and West St. Paul Municipalities), as well as in the Town of Churchill; staff working in home care, primary care, public health, mental health & addictions; multiple community health agencies; and in WRHA corporate and regional programs.

Northern Health Region Employers Organization (NHREO)

The Northern Health Region Employers Organization employs allied health professionals north of the 53rd parallel — the largest geographic region of all five of the regional health authorities. The region includes Flin Flon General Hospital, The Pas Health Complex, and Thompson General Hospital, with staff delivering home care, public health, and mental health & addictions community programs (Shared Health is accountable for lab and diagnostic services, as well as ERS, in the North).

Shared Health Employers Organization (SHEO)

Shared Health is Manitoba’s provincial health authority, providing planning, health services, and operational support for Manitoba’s health system and its five regional health authorities.

Allied health professionals work for Shared Health across the province in critical areas: laboratory services and diagnostic imaging, emergency response services, crisis response services, mental health & addictions; at CancerCare Manitoba, Health Sciences Centre, Selkirk and Eden Mental Health Centres, Rehabilitation Centre for Children; in Provincial Pharmacy, Wellbeing, and more.

MAHCP is proud to represent 4,530+ allied health professionals employed by SHEO.


LOCAL TABLES

MAHCP represents 565 allied health members employed by nine organizations outside of our Central Table. Labour Relations Officers bargain these agreements directly with each employer, and leveraging the support of volunteer bargaining committee members drawn from within each organization.

Aboriginal Health & Wellness Centre

AHWC is a non-profit organization and Manitoba’s only Urban-Indigenous community health agency. It is designed to meet the needs of Winnipeg’s Indigenous Peoples (First Nations – status and non-status, Metis, Inuit, 2SLGBTQQIA+) and is governed by Indigenous Peoples for Indigenous Peoples.

Staff members blend and balance traditional and contemporary ways of knowing and learning, and are committed to holistic and contemporary healing services. The Centre’s 13 programs include: Insight Mentoring Program, Residential School Survivors Support, Rapid Access to Addictions Medicines, a primary care clinic and mobile primary care, and more.

MAHCP is proud to represent all AHWC staff (approx. 80 members), from Mentors to Medical Clerks and from Community Wellness Workers to Intensive Support Workers, Registered Nurses, teachers, and more. Learn more: https://ahwc.ca/

Brandon Clinic

Brandon Clinic is staffed by 36 physicians delivering multi-disciplinary/multi-specialty services in Internal Medicine, Nephrology, Gastroenterology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Psychology, General Surgery, Urology, and Orthopedics. The Clinic has its own diagnostics suite (lab, X-ray, ECG).

Canadian Blood Services

CBS is an independent registered charity regulated as a biologics manufacturer by Health Canada. The organization operates the national blood and plasma supply system, as well as the national public cord blood bank, providing access to products and services required for the treatment and care of patients across the country.

Community Therapy Services (CTS)

CTS is a private, non-profit agency that provides occupational therapy and physiotherapy services to meet the rehabilitation service needs of individuals, care providers, and care organizations in Manitoba.

Dynacare

Dynacare provides medical laboratory testing and other health-related services to hospitals, healthcare professionals, and patients to help diagnose, understand, and manage medical conditions. From collection and transportation of specimens to testing and reporting, Dynacare’s Laboratory Assistants, Technicians, and Technologists are essential to diagnostics in Manitoba.

MAHCP is proud to represent 340 Dynacare members working in Manitoba (including some rural), delivering vital lab services for Manitoba’s health authorities under service purchase agreements. Learn more: Dynacare – Home

Jocelyn House

Jocelyn House is a hospice care facility, combining comfort and care for people who are living the end of their lives and can’t stay in their own home, but choose not to be in a hospital. Staff provide end-of-life care in a safe, secure setting. MAHCP is proud to represent 33 Licensed Practical Nurses and Hospice Care Workers at Jocelyn House. Learn more: Jocelyn House Hospice

Manitoba Clinic

Manitoba Clinic is part of the Well Health Clinic Network. Physicians and staff deliver primary care and multi-specialty services in Cardiology, Neurology, Mental Health, Obstetrics, Sleep Therapy, and more. Manitoba Possible

Manitoba Possible (formerly Society for Manitobans with Disabilities) delivers programs and services to Manitobans with disabilities, their families, and communities. Services include: Communication Centre for Children, Children’s Assistive Technology, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services, Manitoba Wheelchair Program, and more.

The Winnipeg Clinic

The Winnipeg Clinic is one of Canada’s largest multi-specialty clinics, and offers specialization in Allergy & Immunology, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Rheumatology, and more, as well as a wide range of diagnostic facilities and health-related services.
