Jay-Jay has worked in Medical Laboratory Sciences for almost two decades, and he says that it’s exactly where he’s supposed to be.
“I took the lab tech course as a starter into the medical field, but since I started working, I enjoyed it so much that I forgot all about nursing! Phlebotomy is so important to the healthcare system, because physicians rely on bloodwork heavily. I know some people don’t enjoy getting bloodwork done, but I tell everyone how much it matters. Without labs, doctors can’t determine a pre-diagnosis, a diagnosis, or potential treatments.”
