Jen Johnson has spent 13 years as a General Duty CT Technologist at Health Sciences Centre driven by a goal to do her job to the best of her ability and provide the best scans for patients.

“I started out at Concordia then returned to X-Ray at HSC, the facility where I had my clinical placement. I always knew I wanted a career at HSC, because HSC CT is unique. We are the stroke and trauma centre for Manitoba, NW Ontario and Nunavut. I love the variety of scans and procedures we do. We have an ability to plan scans according to what the doctors need for diagnoses, and we all work together in sync with doctors and nurses to provide care to the patients we see.”

Jen’s first career was as a massage therapist, and when it came time for a change, she knew she wanted to stay in health care.

“I took one year of university then my MRT course at Red River College, and I’ve been in Radiology for 19 years. It’s always evolving! I love being part of the health care team and the reward of helping people is amazing. I plan to see my career at HSC through to retirement.”
