MAHCP President Bob Moroz and Vice President Tanya Burnside will be heading to Northern Manitoba for the 2020 Trappers’ Festival in The Pas and visits in more communities that week.

“We’re absolutely delighted to meet with our members to discuss the issues that currently they’re facing,” said Moroz, adding that the changes to our health care system over the past couple years has impacted the north greatly.

“If you’re in the area and would like to attend any one of these meetings, you are more than welcome to do so! We’d like to see as many members as possible.”

During these meetings, President Moroz and Vice President Burnside will be available to answer members’ questions about all kinds of issues, including bargaining.

Their first stop is in Thompson on Monday, Feb. 10 for a drop-in MAHCP members meeting at the Steelworkers Hall from 3:30 to 6 p.m.

The second stop is Tuesday, Feb. 11, in Flin Flon for a meeting at the Victoria Inn’s Flinty Room, from 4 to 7 p.m. There will be food and refreshments at the Thompson and Flin Flon meetings.

The Trappers’ Fest kicks off in The Pas on Wednesday, Feb. 12, and we’re aiming to have a big contingent on hand for the Torchlight Parade, so please join us at our decorated MAHCP truck in the Royal Canadian Legion parking lot at 4:30 p.m. Judging will take place at 5 p.m. and the Parade begins to leave the Legion at 6 p.m.

President Moroz and Vice President Burnside will also be hosting an Open House for MAHCP members in The Pas and the surrounding areas on Thursday, Feb. 13, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Good Thymes Restaurant. Food and refreshments will be provided.

All of our events are listed in the calendar on the www.mahcp.ca home page.

Please e-mail info@mahcp.ca if you have any questions about the tour or if you are in the area and would like to schedule a meeting during the Tour.
