This afternoon, MAHCP and other unions learned from Commissioner Robert Pruden that the representation votes resulting from Bill 29, the Health Sector Bargaining Unit Review Act, will occur from August 8-22, 2019. Please read the Commissioner’s official announcement here.
The Commissioner confirmed that voting will take place online or by telephone during the voting period. Voting credentials will be sent to you via Canada Post. Your postal address will be provided by the Employer, not by MAHCP, so please ensure that you verify your current home mailing address with your individual Employer.
Immediately prior to the two-week voting period, there will be a four-week campaign period.
During the campaign period, unions will have access to facilities in order to reach voters directly. There will be no contact information shared with unions for those voters who are not already members of that union, so site access is an important step to ensure that you have all the information you need to make an informed decision.
Please stay tuned to learn more about when MAHCP will be in or near your worksite. We know that MAHCP is the best choice for our Professional-Technical-Paramedical Sector, including Rural EMS.
If you have any questions, please email us at info@mahcp.ca or call the MAHCP office at 204-772-0425 or toll-free at 1-800-315-3331. Please also visit onestrongvoice.ca.
We look forward to talking with you soon about this very important vote.
In solidarity,
Bob Moroz
President, MAHCP
